I am back

So...............

What's new? I haven't posted on here in forever.

But as they say - "Life happens".

My current situation is a great one - all things leading up to it - not so great. But that is another (blog) story. I recently celebrated 2 years at my job.  I am a bakery assistant in a food store. I wasn't expecting it to work out, I mean, a big part of my job history was at one kind of a day care or another. Me? at a bakery? Who knew!?

But I really needed a job, and they were offering me one, so I took it. Without working I had a lot to lose. There seemed to not be as many options for me as I thought there would be.

As it happens, having a disability and finding a job is harder than you'd think! (I am being sarcastic)

Lucky for me, now I work for a great company and literally everyone that I work with in the bakery are amazing people. They were very patient with me when I first started and they are just as patient now. I can be myself at work and that has really helped me. I am comfortable enough to let someone know when I don't fully understand a task and they have gotten to know how to explain/teach things to me. I am very happy there. My favorite part is talking with customers and helping them out.

Right now I'm working part-time. 3 days a week, 4 hours a day. I am sometimes asked to come in on my days off.  Usually during super busy times or to cover for a co-worker. That makes me feel great!

I wish I could work more all of the time, but my exhaustion makes it difficult. (You guys with 22q should know what I mean)

Well.... I hope to continue to post regularly -

We've got so much to "catch up" on!

Bye!!!
